About Us.

Bryan Puckett was a driving force in the Louisville punk and hardcore community. As the founder of Little Heart Records, he built a fiercely artist-friendly home for the bands he believed in. Over the years, Little Heart supported more than 30 artists and released hundreds of albums, EPs, and compilations—helping shine early light on acts like Knocked Loose, On My Honor, and Uh Huh Baby Yeah! The label wasn’t just a label; it was a cornerstone of Louisville’s DIY scene, known for championing young bands, putting out ambitious releases, and showing up for local music in every way possible.

Puckett himself was the heart of it all. More than a label owner, he was a friend, mentor, hype-man, and constant presence at shows—someone who made people feel seen, supported, and part of something bigger. His impact is still felt in the city’s music community today.

Bryan passed away in 2016, and with him gone, Little Heart Records eventually came to a close. Those of us who worked with him—whether on the label, in bands, or simply alongside him in the scene—carried on with life, but never stopped missing the energy and love he poured into this community. Ten years later, his "Pucketteers", are finally bringing to life something we dreamed of for years: a music festival to honor our friend and the music he believed in so deeply.

Puckettfest isn’t about profit, prestige, or recreating the past. It’s a celebration of the DIY scene Puckett helped shape, giving back to the communities he cared about, and creating a space that reflects the spirit he brought into every room.

We can’t wait to build Puckettfest with you.
